Signing of MoU for Fast Track Programme between Malaysian Association of Company Secretaries (“MACS”) and Pine Academy Group, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

In January 2010, MACS  break new ground with their qualifications, by extending the qualifications direct to the residents of Sabah, East Malaysia. The Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Fast Track Programme with Pine Academy Group . This Programme allows the students of PAG to complete the Professional Examination of MACS in the shortest time possible, with up to exemptions on ten (10) examination papers. The tuition of the subjects in the examination will be conducted by PAG and the first intake of students is expected in March 2010.

The students who have completed the Professional Examination of MACS could apply to become full Members of the Association once they have attained three (3) years relevant working experience. As MACS is a prescribed body under Section 139A(a) of the Companies Act 1965, members of the Association (Fellow and Member grades only) could practice as Certified Company Secretaries without the need of obtaining the license from Companies Commission of Malaysia.
