2010

The Pine Academy Group had recently organised its Creative
Leadership Camp 2010 at the Beringgis Beach Resort & Spa. The 2D/1N
event from 14th to 15th September 2010, which was the Academy’s
third this year was aimed at forging better understanding and
friendship between its students, particularly those in the September
intake.
During the event the participants took part in competitive creative
leadership activities, before going outdoors for fast paced games.
Later in the evening they were treated to a nice surprise where the
Academy’s Dean of Marketing, Tommy Chaim presented a brief Wine
Talk. The objective of this event was to increase students’
awareness of the significance of wine as an effective ‘tool’ in
business and social settings. During the talk students were guided
on the selection, serving, drinking and appreciation of wine.
The Camp Manager, Mr. Bonnie Lai was confident that “The students
definitely had benefited a lot from the talk, especially when it was
conducted by Tommy who has vast experience in the F&B industry”.
Asked on his opinion about the Wine Talk, Tommy said “Nowadays the
appreciation of wine is often not properly understood. So we hope
that through this talk the students are more well informed of the
basic aspects of wine”.
According to Bonnie again “College life is indeed a discovery period
towards the real world market, therefore we will continue to plan
more knowledge based events during the Camps so that students are
exposed to valuable new experiences”.
